5 twigs of equal length
hot glue or thick craft glue
twine or jute--optional
A.--Make upside down V glue with ends overlapping
B. --Glue third stick across upper portion of triangle
C.--Glue 2 remaining sticks into place--making points
D.--When glue has set, wrap star points with twine (or jute) for a rustic look if you like

Clever idea!
You could dress these up in lots of ways or leave them with just the twigs and twine for a rustic look.
