Storm 5-25-11 p.m.

Storm came thru and we got 2" of rain. A tornado hit about 1/2 to 3/4 a mile east of us. In 2 different places trees across the road and then on 2 different roads neighbors sheds got blown away. Power lines down on the highway. We have a few limbs down. So people north and south of us are without power. Our fields already can't take much more water.

My beautiful SURPRIZE! For mother of the bride!

I got home this afternoon from a few errands in Centralia and this beautiful flower arrangement was awaiting for me. The house in the front room/kitchen/dining room is smelling so good. They are from a very sweet friend I met online. She is one of the sweetest people I know.

Miscellanous

Put up the balloon banner in celebration of daughters wedding this Saturday.

Bamboo was my g'mas. She died in '08.

Flowers

A lone poppy started by seed a few yrs. ago.

Wish you all lived around here and I would share some of the Eveing Primroses with you. When they bloom, they open about 8 at night and just spin open with a beautiful scent! Seeds drop and you get a zillion. These are all from 1 from last year.

3rd picture, lemon sage a woman gave me once and it takes over! Smells so good when rubbed tho.

Honeysuckle is blooming. I love the smell of it when you are outside, driving down the country roads or even in the house with windows opened and it is in full bloom.

Peonies are starting to bloom here.

Flowers

Blackberries are blooming~~we are in Blackberry Winter. Cooler out.

MIL's rose bush that we brought a start home back in '96 when we were getting ready to sell their place.

This is what 98% of the fields look like around here. With all the rain farmers are just starting to get in but Fri. thru Tues. more is predicted. Double click and see a field about 30 acres away the same.

Black Velvet Panies.

Planter on the front with hummingbird flowers in it. My fern I need to get the stand out.

Best Cookies Ever

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar packed
1 egg beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup long cooking oats uncooked
10 mini peanut butter cups, quartered (sometimes I cut into 6)
1.55 oz milk chocolate candy bar grated
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 cup toffee baking bits
1 cup chopped pecans

Mix together flour and baking soda then set aside. In a separate large bowl, using a mixer on medium beat together butter and sugars until fluffly. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture, beat on low speed until blended. Use a spoon to fold in remaining ingredients. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for several hours or overnight. Form into 1" balls and place 2" apart on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.

This recipe was published in the Gooseberry Patch Cookbook~~ Best Ever Cookies.

New kitty

New kitty that Allen brought in for us to see it is about 2 weeks old. Boomer had to check it out. Would be Boomers aunt.

Jaymee got the balls and basket at Hobby Lobby yesterday for their front room.

Finally alittle crafting

With my daughters wedding coming up in about 6 days I haven't really been doing much crafting, but I did do these for a friends granddaughters. Did the pink ones this a.m. and the purple ones at lunch at work. They work up so fast. A few years back my daughter had a few different colors of them. My younger sister even had me do her some back then.

These are pretty done with 2 different colors used together, too.

Goodwill Finds

Yesterday I got the 2 Christmas pillows for $2 each (tags were still on) and the basket for $3 for the wedding.

Update~~Not sure DD cares for it so it might be donated back.

More material (yes I need it)

I just love the Bambi material! There was 1 1/2 yd left on the bolt so I took it. Eventually will do a baby quilt.
All the Easter material was sold out at Joanns and Hobby Lobby so found this for a couple projects.

Chili-ghetti
