I need to go through the cabinets and get rid of some stuff as well as the closet. Then the garage and shed needs it come spring.

We are redoing a bathroom and laundry room now. Back in early fall my washer wasn't spinning out correctly and I got so tired of always having to spin and spin it again that one time I put towels in dryer to wet and burnt the belt up. So the plan was a new set, but upon moving the washer we saw where the floor had a small hole and was weak back to the bathroom so wall, tub and all came out. Took awhile to find what we wanted and what would fit and then other pieces weren't in stock. I do think we have 90 to 95% of it so hoping to get it going. In the meantime I have ripped carpet out of 2 bedrooms and plan to repaint and get flooring. Have another bedroom to replace flooring but haven't ripped it out yet. That room doesn't get repainted. It is the room granddaughter uses when over and she likes it. Will all take time since I work.

We had a really cold spell Christmas weekend but today near 60.

happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-88715556663474427482022-02-05T16:42:00.003-06:002022-02-05T16:42:20.019-06:00

happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-89727425721878842812021-07-23T00:00:00.002-05:002021-07-23T21:31:26.322-05:00Dollar Tree Foam Dice

I did purchase the dice last year but never made any. Using recycled cards or maybe even a picture from calendar or book and decorate it up with some glitter etc... If not wanting to use glitter try the glitter ribbon that you can buy. Could put mini tree, snowman, truck etc. depending on picture if you wanted to.

For some reason, I cannot post on peoples blogs. I wouldn't be able to get away with that one (wouldn't move fast enough)!

happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-58795845649505638602021-07-06T00:00:00.006-05:002021-07-06T21:08:21.296-05:00Sausage Bake
This is a nice breakfast to have on hand for guest or just your family. We like it.

8 slices bread cubed

1 1/2 lb. sausage

2 1/4 cups milk

1 can mushroom soup

1/2 can milk

2 cups grated cheese, cheddar (I have used pepper jack before)

4 eggs

1/4 tsp .dry mustard

can of mushrooms drained optional

Grease 9x13 pan. Put in cubed bread and top with cheese. Beat eggs with milk and mustard and pour over the top. Brown and drain sausage, spread over mixture. Refrigerate overnight. In the morning, pour mushroom soup mixed with 1/2 can of milk on top and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

If using mushrooms I chop them and cook with sausage. At times I add diced onions and green peppers along with sausage. I am also known to add a few dashes of cajun seasoning when cooking sausage.
happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-45714143351902296292021-07-06T00:00:00.001-05:002021-07-06T00:00:00.240-05:00Save your seeds
If you have any gardeners on your gift list, why not save your flower seeds and give to them with a picture of the plant. Easy ones to save or cosmos (unless finches get them first), zinnias, the moon flower, Cardinal climber, cypress vine, the touch me nots (from impatient family do not know exact name), four o'clocks and etc....

They would love getting different flowers to plant.
happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-72979722759087654642021-07-05T00:00:00.001-05:002021-07-05T00:00:00.230-05:00Cute treat bags

Another picture I have been saving. Great after a big meal. Very easy to make. I flopped a little of the mixture in the coconut also and it made it much easier to roll into balls. I also added confectioners sugar. I would change the hat decoration and probably put some snow tex and glitter on them alittle. Hats could be made from construction paper, cardboard, foam. Depending on size of pom poms used if you have any of the old film canisters, you could use them. The little coffee thingys---maybe.

happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-82256018337963461312021-06-13T21:00:00.003-05:002021-06-13T21:03:43.096-05:00I am still here!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! She was always a pretty special lady.

happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-7500560464038309222020-11-13T17:56:00.001-06:002020-11-13T17:56:10.864-06:00Snickerdoodle Apple Cake
I ran across this recipe online somewhere within the last month (sorry I don't know who to give the credit to,,) and have made 4 of them. Made it at home and Allen loved it and gave some to neighbors and then made one for each of the branches where I work. Several called and asked for the recipe or to tell me they really liked it.

Be good for Thanksgiving dinner I thought....But we are staying home this year and not going to my sisters. She normally has about 30 plus people but I know several aren't going. :(

Hope you give it a try!

For the cake:

1 vanilla cake mix

1 (3.4 ounce) box instant vanilla pudding

3/4 cup apple juice

1/3 cup applesauce

4 large eggs

2 teaspoons cinnamon

1 teaspoon nutmeg

1 1/2 cups shredded peeled apples

For the Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 Tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

4 cups powdered sugar

6 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream

For the Topping:

2-3 Tablespoons cinnamon sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick spray.

Mix together the cake mix, pudding mix, apple juice, applesauce, eggs, cinnamon and nutmeg. Beat on low speed for 1 minute, and then 2 minutes on medium speed.

Gently stir the shredded apples into the cake batter.

Spread the batter in the prepared pan. Bake for 35-38 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Let cool.

Beat the butter and vanilla until creamy. Add the salt and cinnamon and beat again.

Slowly beat in the powdered sugar and heavy whipping cream until light and fluffy. Spread or pipe on the cooled cake.

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top of the cake.
happeningswithLanahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11467937856900406297noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-948298390069438282.post-73805089778338737892020-11-07T18:07:00.001-06:002020-11-07T18:07:06.911-06:00Pillow from a dish towel

Took maybe 25-30 minutes and most of that was trying to get it stuffed full enough and even.
