A surprise party

This a.m. I left with my mom, younger sister and my daughter to go shopping. We went to Michaels, Garden Ridge, Joanns, Old Time Pottery, Borders, then Hobby Lobby. My daughter Jaymee went to get a dress at Davids Bridal (bridesmaid) and she went to Bed, Bath Beyond.

Anyhoo, upon returning to town we went to a Mexican place and my family was all inside. Quite a surprise! They always put a hat on the birthday person and sing Happy birthday. My daughter took the ice cream and helped me with the first bite! My b'day was the 22nd as was our 31st ann. too. Younger sisters family got me the bluebird basket-I love bluebirds and my older sister and her friend Michele got me the Waterford ornament. I also love Christmas items.

Our out house that I am repainting. It was on some land that we brought and we brought it here several years ago. We store our garden tools in it.

Finally got a few things done

Got 3 barbie skirts done, and a bib. the bib would definitely be for an older baby. Washcloth and then material that I used 18x18. So easy and will cover the outfit good.

Look at the pleasant surprise I got in the mail!!!!!!:)

A box was waiting for me when I got home and look what was inside!!!! A variety of material. Jelly roll, charm pack and then 8 little packs of squares. Moda and beautiful prints!! I absolutely love them and was so touched to receive them. They are from my friend Cyndi. I found her blog probably last fall and have enjoyed getting to know her. She is a very talented purse maker and has taken up quilt making. Which she has taken no time to master. Thank you Cyndi, you are so sweet.

On the way to work this a.m.

I love seeing the finches on the weeds. At times flocks of them take off. Normally there are 5 turkeys (have been since last year) and this a.m. only 4. I see them almost daily.

Potato Harvest

Out of 10 pounds got about 45 lbs.. Planted another 100 pounds and got zinch. They rotted. He is soaking wet picking them up. They were planted on top the ground with straw put over them so just had to rake it away and pick them up.

My only canning

These tomatos are from our neighvors- sons boss also. Our garden was a bust this summer. Hoping to get stuff out for fall but so hot and dry. Was extremely wet earlier spring/summer.

We normally can alot during the summer. Salsa, tomatos, pickles, beets, green beans etc.

Chili-ghetti
