I know this is a repeat BUT

I think maybe every year for Christmas In July I post about gift giving for the garden.  This is the time of year to look for that stuff.  Several stores like Big Lots, Hobby Lobby and Dollar General are clearancing some of it. Bird feeders, little decorative stakes, wind chimes, fairy garden items, plant stands, gloves, gazing balls etc.....

Last year I gave 4 gifts that were a metal chair that said Welcome on it.  It was at least 36" and could be inside or out and they all loved it.

Miscellaneous Shots

Teigan, swinging along with mommy.
Suet was empty so she had to fill it.
Got a package of headbands but she decided they were our
workout bands.  G'pa, G'ma, Uncle Ryan and her had to wear them and then race .  She took an ice cone break as she calls it.
That is part of a row of peas.  We have 3 rows that are probably about 40 feet and they look like this.  Hoping to get some peas for canning and freezing.  Looking good but can always freeze yet till mid April.
Our first asparagus cutting was the 27th.  Should of cut a few more tonight.  This is the earliest I can remember cutting asparagus.  Even tho it is just alittle.

Have a gardener on your Christmas List?

If you do, start watching for the clearance on gardening items or yard decorations, banners.  Can get some type of pot, watering can, and put in gloves, little shovels etc..  Dollar General will be putting their items on clearance and they have some cute little items to sit around.  In the past I have purchased children size garden tools for different adults and they really like using that size shovel for one reason or another.

I will be watching for the kids garden items for Teigan.  Probably for Easter or just to have here.

Garden Produce---Gift giving all ready done now for some

While the garden is producing and you are putting up your canned goods, put up a few extra for family, friends, neighbors or co-workers.  They will enjoy your salsa, canned fruits, jellies, pickles, corn, green beans, relish or whatever it is you put up doing the winter and think of you while eating it.

Worse garden we have had.  Hoping our fall one is better.

Potato Harvest

Out of 10 pounds got about 45 lbs.. Planted another 100 pounds and got zinch. They rotted. He is soaking wet picking them up. They were planted on top the ground with straw put over them so just had to rake it away and pick them up.

My only canning

These tomatos are from our neighvors- sons boss also. Our garden was a bust this summer. Hoping to get stuff out for fall but so hot and dry. Was extremely wet earlier spring/summer.

We normally can alot during the summer. Salsa, tomatos, pickles, beets, green beans etc.

Garden~~maybe

Allen and Thomas cutting asparagus. Thomas is an outside cat and loves to be in the garden with you. He seems to know exactly where you are going next and there first.

Our green onions, garlic and peas. With the 13.9" of rain in April haven't gotten to weed any as you can well see. Peas need trellised.

More blooms of summer

Took the rabbit outfit off the goose and put on the rain gear. Hopefully it won't be needed anymore since we had 13.9" of rain since April 6th.

Around the fish pond is the spinning primrose that bloom about 8 at night and then die at night and more reopen. Smell good and they just spin when they bloom. All of those are starts from seeds that dropped last year.

Columbines, clematis and our first poppy popped yesterday. Saw 5 more out there this a.m..

Sites from Sunday morning stroll

Have 2 of these trees by the garden (1 in front and 1 in back from MIL's) they are starting to bloom.

2nd picture~~~can you see the asparagus starting to come thru?!?! Yummy can't wait for it. Allen got 20 more plants on Friday to start another bed. We all love it as does our family and neighbors. Sometimes it doesn't get shared as much as zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans and such.

Last picture potatoes are starting to sprout.

Blackberries are starting with green leaves too. Peas are starting to sprout some too.

I can't wait for the fresh produce to start. I pray it is a good gardening year so we can can.
