Check out this recipe......

Go to my sidebar and look at: My Five Men

On her post for 4-25 she has a recipe for Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies. Haven't tried them but they look GOOD!

I tried these late this afternoon

I got this recipe off of the Pioneer Woman's blog today and thought I would try them. They got the thumbs up from the family. So another keeper to file.

French Breakfast Puffs

3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup sugar
2/3 cups shortening (Crisco) I used another brand
2 whole eggs
1 cup milk
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
2 sticks of butter

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease 12 muffin cups. In a large bowl stir together flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg. Set aside. In a different bowl, cream together 1 cup sugar and shortening. Then add eggs and mix again. Add flour mixture and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition.
Fill prepared muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
In a bowl, melt 2 sticks butter. In a separate bowl combine remaining sugar and cinnamon. Dip baked muffins in butter and roll around till all coated then dip into the sugar/cinnamon mixture.

The recipe says it makes 12 but I got 18 and ended up melting another stick of butter to do all mine. Had very little butter left and a small amount of sugar/cinnamon mixture left.

Okay, I had my husband take 6 to my great aunts for them to have, DH, DS and I had 1 each and DD's BF had 1 or 2.

Review on supper

Next time I think I will cook it at 350 and alittle longer. Apples were cut thin but needed just a tad longer. Cornbread I will do just a tad thinner too. But we liked it.

Supper Tonight

Saw this on Paula Deen the other day at lunch time. Will see how it is.

Piggy Pudding

16 link pork sausages
4 to 5 tart apples, peeled, cored and sliced
1 (7 1/2 ounce) package yellow cornbread mix, batter prepared according to package directions
1 cup maple syrup, for serving
Fresh sage for garnish, optional

Preheat oven to 450. Cook sausages in a skillet until done, piercing with a fork to let out fat. Drain and then arrange in a 9" square baking dish. Layer sliced apples on top. Pour corn bread batter over all and bake for approximately 30 minutes or until cornbread is done. Serve with warm maple syrup and garnish with sage.

Sister and Brother

These kittens are about 6 months old. Their mother is expecting again. She has had so many babies. She was a stray and vet thought she was to old to fix. At one time she had a couple litters and only had 1 each time and they died and we thought she was done. We love cats but there is a limit. I have 1 inside and the rest (4) are outside. This was taken in a storage area.

Who likes to play..........................

Polish Golf, ladderball and not sure what else it is all called? We made this about 6 or 7 years ago. Kids played it in high school during P.E. and I didn't till our friends in Iowa had it in 2003 when were there. At get togethers and then sometimes in the evening we play it. Need to repaint a couple sets of balls. Had to remake 2 pairs.

Fuzzy

My cat loves to be where ever you are in the yard. He enjoys people being out. When working in the garden he is right there with you. Sometimes, helping by laying down on the plants where ever you are working.

Mrs. Goosey Has a new Color On

When my grandma died a couple years ago I was given this goose. The outfit was older and semi faded then but really bad now. Last Saturday I took it off of her and then cut out a new one. Cannot find the right size of sunflower for the hat. All to big or to small (like the one I did use finally) for it. But she does look better. I need to paint her now. Suppose I should make a few other outfits so they don't get so faded.

Stepping Stone

We made this stepping stone to put out by our fish pond years ago. This winter it seems to have lost a few stones. Will have to replace.

Natures Beauty

I got up alittle after 6 and was going to go to the computer and when I opened the blinds I saw the beautiful sun coming up and decided to go walking. The redbuds are along a woods. Lilac bush at our house and also the tulips. It was a nice morning and my husband and I walked around the yard and then dug out the garden seed to see what we had and what we need. He had to work 11-3 so I ran and did some errands.

Peanut Butter Brownie Trifle

1 fudge brownie mix (13 x 9)
1 pkg. (10 oz.) peanut butter chips
2 pkg. (13 oz. each) miniature peanut butter cups
4 cups cold 2% milk
2 pkg. (5.1 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 cup creamy peanut butter
4 tsp. vanilla extract
3 cartons (8 oz each) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Prepare brownie batter according to directions, then stir in peanut butter chips. Bake in a greased 13 x 9 dish at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near center comes out with moist crumbs. (do not overbake) Cool then cut into small bite size pieces.

Cut peanut butter cups in half, set aside 1/3 cup for garnish. In a large bowl, whisk milk and pudding mixes for 2 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes or until soft set. Add peanut butter and vanilla, mix well. Fold in 1 1/2 cartons whipped topping.

Place a third of the brownies in a 5 qt glass bowl, top with a third of the remaining peanut butter cups. Spoon a third of the pudding mixture over the top. Repeat layers twice. Cover with remaining whipped topping and garnish with the reserved peanut butter cups.

Refrigerate until chilled.

Picture is under my April 3rd post. I only used 1 1/2 cartons of cool whip and did the 3 layers, putting reserved peanut butter cups onto a layer of pudding mixture. It was alot of mixture as I didn't use all of it.

Strawberry Pie

1 small box strawberry jello

1 cup sugar

6 tablespoons cornstarch

12 ounces 7-Up

Cook until thick. Cool and add a quart of strawberries. (Takes a while to cool)

Fuzzy

Tuesday Fuzzy went out when I left for work for the 2nd time that a.m. and did not come in until Wed. a.m. about 6 a.m.. We called thru out the evening and then every couple hours I was up and also DH and he didn't come. When he came in yesterday a.m. he by passed the food dish~~~~which he never does~~~~ and went straight to my room to sleep.

Anybody remember those rugs that is in the picture? Crocheted bread wrappers. My grandma made that years ago. I can remember her always cutting bread wrappers in strips and then crocheting them. Maybe I should try one. Will put that on my list.

Homemade Vanilla

This is how my vanilla looks now. Started it on 1-17-10. For Christmas '08 I made vanilla (started it on 8-31-08) and then this past Christmas I had people say where is my vanilla I liked that and need more so...... Started it earlier to see what the taste would be. Need to get more vanilla beans and then do vanilla sugar too.

Jerusalem Obituaries-33 AD

Calvary- Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, died Friday on Mount Calvary, also known as Golgotha, the place of the skull. Betrayed by the apostle Judas, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, and loss of blood.

Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, was a member of the house of David. He was the Son of the late Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, and Mary His devoted Mother. Jesus was born in a stable in the city of Bethlehem, Judea. He is survived by His mother Mary, His faithful Apostles, numerous disciples, and many other followers.

Jesus was self educated and spent most of his adult life working as a Teacher. Jesus also occasionally worked as a Medical Doctor and it is reported that He healed many patients. Up until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, touching the lonely, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor.

Jesus was most noted for telling parables about His Father's Kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and healing a man who was born blind. On the day before His death, He held a Last Supper celebrating the Passover Feast at which He foretold His death.

The body was quickly buried in a stone grave which was donated by Joseph of Arimathea, loyal friend of the family. By order of Pontius Pilate, a boulder was rolled in front of the tomb. Roman soldiers were put on guard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested that everyone try to live as Jesus did.
Donations may be sent to anyone in need.

This was published in one of our grocery stores sales bills a few years ago. I carry it in my Bible.

Happy Easter to all!!!
