Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

4 cups milk
1 cup quick cooking rice (uncooked)
1/4 cup raisins (optional)
1 egg, well beaten
1 package (4 oz serving size) vanilla or coconut cream flavor pudding and pie filling
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Combine milk, rice, pudding mix, raisins and egg in saucepan.  Stir over medium heat until mixture just comes to a boil.  Cook 5 minutes, stirring twice.  Pour into dessert dishes or serving bowl.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg--serve warm.  Makes 10 servings.

Found in my grandmas recipe box when going thru it this past weekend.
