English Toffee

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 c nuts chopped

Mix all together.  Press dough into greased 10x15" pan.  Beat 1 egg white and spread on dough.  Sprinkle with 1/2 cup nuts.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.  Cut while warm.
