Sites from Sunday morning stroll

Have 2 of these trees by the garden (1 in front and 1 in back from MIL's) they are starting to bloom.

2nd picture~~~can you see the asparagus starting to come thru?!?! Yummy can't wait for it. Allen got 20 more plants on Friday to start another bed. We all love it as does our family and neighbors. Sometimes it doesn't get shared as much as zucchini, cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans and such.

Last picture potatoes are starting to sprout.

Blackberries are starting with green leaves too. Peas are starting to sprout some too.

I can't wait for the fresh produce to start. I pray it is a good gardening year so we can can.

Jaymee's shower

First picture is of the bridesmaids~~~Jaymee is the one all the way to the right. One of the little ones are behind the matron of honor.

2nd one is just a picture from the back of the room.

Last is the little bride (my niece Kristen), junior bridesmaid (my other niece) , Sophie flower girl (she is the grooms niece) and then my sister Miranda (bridesmaid).

Thanksgiving or Christmas????

My grandparents had this for years and when they passed away in 2005 my mom had kept it for me. It was actually started from one if my great grandparents. She brought it out to me maybe about 1 1/2 months ago and it seems to be doing good. I am not sure which one it is. Going to bloom tho. Jaymee will want a start of it when she moves.

In the ditch

Allen came home from feeding the other night and told me to get my camera. This pheasant was running in the ditch.

Puppy Chow

9 cups Chex cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Measure cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a 1 quart bowl on high for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave again, checking every 30 seconds until it mixes smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour this mixture over cereal stirring until evenly coated.
Pour into a 2 gallon resealable food storage bag. (I use a brown grocery sack) Add the powdered sugar. Seal and shake and shake.
After it is all coated can be spread on wax paper to cool if desired. Store in an airtight container. If warm in house store in fridge.


I have seen this presented as a gift where they filled a dog dish with it and attached the following poem.

Frozen pudding pops

I use to make these when kids were younger and forgot about them until I saw it in a Kraft magazine recently. Mix chocolate pudding mix, 2 cups milk, 7 cookies crushed up and 1/2 cup cool whip. Mix pudding and milk and then add in crushed cookies and cool whip. Put into cup and put a spoon or stick in and freeze. I used 3 oz cups here. Could use 5 oz.
