Peanut Butter Cookies

Here are the cookies I made. Recipe follows in the next post. I got about 50 from a double batch.

Peanut Butter Cookies

I have seen this recipe in books and on blogs and think I will try it later today. I shared it with a co-worker last week and she made them and said they were good. She got about a dozen from the recipe.

1 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 egg
1 cup sugar
Mix all ingredients together, roll into balls, flatten with a fork dipped in sugar.
Bake at 375 for 10 minutes.

Think I will roll in sugar and then flatten with a fork.

Goodwill Finds

Last night when we went grocery shopping we stopped into Goodwill, I was looking for pillows to recover for the patio chairs but instead I found 2 books 50 cents each and then the Christmas stickers $1.00 each. I always look for Christmas books at yard sales, flea markets and Goodwill stores.

The Christmas Cub book is a cute little story.

Patio Furniture~~~Target Clearance!!!

Can double click to enlarge.

It is nothing fancy but we have been looking for 4 or 5 years and could never find anything we liked at a price we liked. I wasn't even looking yesterday when shopping with my mom and daughter and found this. Around $116. I did also get an umbrella stand for $30 but not sure if I will keep it. Might eventually get cushions if I find some I like or just recover some if I find them at yard sales or thrift stores.

Have to get a planter yet or something for the top. I ate supper out there and looked at my new Gooseberry Patch Christmas Book I got in the mail today.

The yard is not in any shape this year. Keep getting rain. Beyond the dog (Shortcake) is our so called garden. The post behind it is the blackberries and then 1 of our CRP fields. We have woods on 3 sides of us. Well, actually to the east is a fence row with openings and a road in the front of the house. Other 2 sides and across road is woods.

The first picture the bush over to the left is a rose bush that we got a small start from my MIL's when she died. Electric fence when sheep are here. Some of our sweet corn patch showing. It got washed out.

It is sitting on top of our cistern. (concrete is either 12 or 18" thick. I can't remember such things.) We don't use it now~~have city water.

Our eggs

The first 2 pictures are of 4 Killdeer eggs that were laid out in the rocks. We have put a cone there and also a container of water. This is going on the 3rd week so hoping they start to hatch.

Last is of a rainbow that I saw this a.m. when going to work.

Jaymee's wedding 5-21-11

We had 14 tables with the tall vases with feathers and then 14 with the cylinders on top a glass block. The head on the display behind them were crystals like those haging on the lights.

I am done posting pictures. Sorry to bore you with so many.

Jaymee's wedding 5-21-11

She was so excited when they were announced husband and wife that she raised her left arm in the air and then grabbed his face to kiss. They had dated for 8 years and 3 months.

Pictures of Daughters (Jaymee) wedding 5-21-11

I can see by pulling these pictures from her they cut some off. Sorry but gives some insight. More I will post later. Her brother with her and her dad.

Pecan Tree is gone

On Tuesday morning 6-14 about 6:45 our power went off. Thank goodness I was out of the shower and pretty well set for work.. When I got to the end of our road before turning onto the highway I saw why. This pecan tree sats on my moms property that was once my great grandparents land. Now it has a shed and a barn where we keep our sheep. But we had a wind come up about that time and it took the tree right down. We picked up gobs of pecans from there this past fall. :( Power came back on about 1:30 p.m.. That night we cleaned up the road and ditches but still have the mess in the yard where they dragged it all back up. That is how it broke off the stomp. This road leads into Ashley pass the grade school. School was out for the summer tho. People had to go around the highway to come in or out. Lucky it was just the tree. My great aunts say it was big when their parents moved there in the late 20's.
