Cicadas~~~they come every 13 yrs.

These are the cicadas that make their appearance every 13 years. They come up from the ground where the eggs stay for 13 years, hatch out, shed their shells, mate and leave. I believe they are around for like a month. They are noisy. Fly all thru the air and stay in trees, grass, flowers, woods. The males they say do the noise of calling to the females. They first hatch out they are white then go to the darker color. The one picture is of the holes they leave in the ground coming out. The last picture is just in the grass where you walk. One is of all the shells around the tree trunk. That one is of several live ones on some irises.
