Thanksgiving or Christmas????

My grandparents had this for years and when they passed away in 2005 my mom had kept it for me. It was actually started from one if my great grandparents. She brought it out to me maybe about 1 1/2 months ago and it seems to be doing good. I am not sure which one it is. Going to bloom tho. Jaymee will want a start of it when she moves.

Puppy Chow

9 cups Chex cereal (any variety)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Measure cereal into a large bowl and set aside.
Microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter in a 1 quart bowl on high for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave again, checking every 30 seconds until it mixes smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour this mixture over cereal stirring until evenly coated.
Pour into a 2 gallon resealable food storage bag. (I use a brown grocery sack) Add the powdered sugar. Seal and shake and shake.
After it is all coated can be spread on wax paper to cool if desired. Store in an airtight container. If warm in house store in fridge.

I have seen this presented as a gift where they filled a dog dish with it and attached the following poem.

Puppy Chow
This may look like puppy chow
but it is really made for you.
Have a handful and you just....
might be wagging your tail too!

Frozen pudding pops

I use to make these when kids were younger and forgot about them until I saw it in a Kraft magazine recently. Mix chocolate pudding mix, 2 cups milk, 7 cookies crushed up and 1/2 cup cool whip. Mix pudding and milk and then add in crushed cookies and cool whip. Put into cup and put a spoon or stick in and freeze. I used 3 oz cups here. Could use 5 oz.

First time I have tried this recipe. Last picture it wasn't set all the way so I put it in again. Can't wait for one of them to try it.

Grandmas grater

At Christmas I use this grater and put a berry bush like thing in it and stick a gingerbread man out of it with a Christmas towel since kitchen is done in gingerbread men. So I thought yesterday of using it with Easter. I found the little bunny today at Dollar General for $2.oo, had the eggs and then got the towel at Alco. I have to work with her bow yet.

We are working on painting some, so please disregard the paint.

What we are getting

Could get up to 3" tonight.

Burning our CRP

This a.m. the guys were burning the CRP (crop rotation program). You burn the edges every other year I think it is. I hate seeing fire and then the black. But within a few weeks it comes back thicker and greener.

First day of spring and to be 75 here and 80 tom.. I wanted to hang bedding out but~~~~knew the hubby would want to burn with the wind the way it is.

Signs of spring

Lilac bush budding out. Hope frost doesn't get it~~~I LOVE the smell of fresh lilacs in the house.
Forsytia (spelling) bush blooming out.
snowodrops have been blooming for over a week now.
Potatoes are under there.
Garlic coming up!

Shower

My daughters future MIL, an aunt and cousin had a shower for her yesterday up in Missouri for their side.

First picture is Jaymee opening presents. Her colors are lime green/black.
Second is my sister (red), mom (green) and Jaymee playing a game.
It was a very nice shower and the soon to be great aunts house that it was at was very nice. I enjoyed meeting them all and just relaxing in the sun room when it was over.

My Sunday

The guys cut out enough boards for 7 new bluebird houses and I cleaned out about 7 gourds for houses.

Allen and I cleaned out 2 flower beds from the dead stuff.

We had a small section left in the yard to take Christmas lights down from and we got that done too. Cooling off this afternoon.

Saw my first snake

I guess spring is really on its way. Will be here a week from today! While we were working in the yard I saw this snake.

My afternoon

After work I changed clothes and then Allen and I started cleaning the yard up from when the ice was here and all the limbs that fell. The stack was really packed so took a few hours to burn. Was so nice to be outside today. Will probably sleep good from all the fresh air and the exercise of bending and carrying.

Check out the givaway!

Over at jillyshappyquilts.blogspot she is giving away fat quaters. Very pretty ones.
