Burp Rags and Bibs

Here are some burp rags and 4 bibs that I did. I still have to top stitch 3 bibs and put velco on them. It is my first attempt at bibs. I got the pattern from my blog friend Rhonda.

It was a productive fun week-end. I sewed. I did go grocery shopping but I didn't really clean. Thank goodness the house isn't to bad.

I am getting the fever

Purchased these yesterday. But we have snow and mud yet so.... Felt good to look at the seed and envision the garden.

My purchases

Maybe potholders? Maybe aprons?
This is my material I purchased today. Got the royal blue last night and went back and got the others today. There is a few more colors that I did not get. Some would say I have a problem always buying material but.....I just like to be prepared.

There are several Things like this but here is another

Recipe For A Happy New Year

1 husband
1 wife
1 Bible for each
1 home
Generous portion of prayer
3 cups love, firmly packed
1 package of work
1 package of play together
1 portion of patience
1 portion of understanding
1 portion of forgiveness
1 small paddle
1 gallon of kisses, blended with hugs

Mix throughly and sprinkle with large quantity of awareness. Bake in moderate oven of everyday life, using as fuel all the grudges and past unpleasantness. Cool. Turn out on a platter of cheerfulness. Garnish with tears and laughter in large helpings. Serve God, country and community.

Baked Broccoli

2 packages frozen broccoli spears, cooked
1 can Cheddar cheese soup that has been thinned with 1/2 cup milk
Crumbled fried bacon

Alternate in layers and bake 30 minutes at 350.

I think if I remake this I would use just 1/4 cup milk or even half of a 1/4 to make the cheese sauce thicker and probably put the bacon in the sauce and pour on layers.

Supper Might Be

I found this recipe the other day in a cookbook that I have checked out from the library and I want to try it.

1 chicken, cooked and boned (or 2 cups cooked chicken breasts)
2 cans cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
1 cup chicken broth
1 small onion chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 cups spaghetti, broken and cooked
1 lb. Cheddar cheese grated
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
Combine all ingredients; bake in a greased 9X13" pan for 45 minutes at 350.

I did make it for supper. I do think it is a keeper. The boys (a 19 yr. old and my 25 yr son) thought there could be less onions and peppers while my DH thought could use more. I used 2 cups chicken and next time I will use 3 or 4 to put more meat in.

My cat

This is my cat Fuzzy (real name Oreo) eating ice cream. The only food he will eat is ice cream and then as soon as you have deer sausage out cutting it he is right there. Otherwise he doesn't eat table food.

DD made this little dish for him back in high school art class.

My kitchen floor is dirty but with weather it just isn't staying the cleanest with the guys coming in with boots and all.

Birthday cake for DDs BF

His b'day was 2-6 but just making some of his favorite foods tonight.

This is a Reese's Peanut Butter Cake

Project in process

Not to long ago we finished making the heart and pinning it on. Believe I will wait until tom. to sew it on. It is for my niece. She will be 7 next Saturday and wanted Aunt Lana to make a soft pink blanket with a big heart on it. DH cut the heart from newspaper and we went from there. The back side will be black fleece with hearts on it. I posted a picture of it awhile back. I was going to sew all 4 sides but now I think it would look nice tied on 3 sides and will sew across the top. Have to sleep on it and decide.

Soxs for a co-workers expected little girl

I finished these today and would still like to make some burp rags and bibs.

More snow pictures

picture out towards our back field, creek, our water pond and then a picture of some trees down the dirt/rock road.

Snow we received during the night

I got up before 7 so went out to walk and get pictures. Love the deer tracks in fresh snow.

20-22 new potatoes (When I don't have new potatoes I use potatoes and peel them at times and other times scrub them up real good)
salt, pepper and onion diced small to taste
1 package shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3/4 cup melted butter
1/2 lb. bacon crisply cooked and crumbled up

Cook potatoes and drain. Cool and slice 1/4" thick. In a greased 9x13 pan put half the potatoes in. Season as desired and top with half the bacon and half the cheese. Layer on remaining potatoes, seasonings and top with remaining bacon and cheese. Drizzle with butter. Bake uncovered at 325 degrees until cheese melts and casserole is heated through.
