Talent Show

Our town had a fall festival yesterday with a talent show. There were only 2 entries. The neighbor boy played the accordian (he is 7 and so good) and then my 2 nieces and nephew song to Mama Mia. Well, the 2 younger ones stood and smiled. The oldest did sing but ever so lightly. Was alittle shy after seeing all the people.
Normally they sing and dance so loud.

It is Jackson 2, Madison 6, and Kristen 4. Oh yeah, my sister in the background.

She put it out on facebook and then friends and my sister were calling her all day and sending their pictures to her of their brooms and etc..

Kitchen floor got mopped after picture. Has been muddy here and can't keep up with all the mud from the guys shoes.

I purchased a yard of this material this a.m.. I think I will make a curtain for the craft room. The forest green one goes but this will lighten it up. Sounds like a good reason to buy more fabric!!!! I love to buy fabric. Alot harder tho now that Wal-Mart doesn't sell it.

Can enlarge pictures to read it.

Thomas Ornaments

I made these 2 for my 3 yr old nephew who loves Thomas. I had these wooden ornaments for awhile and had material left over from a pillow I made him so cut them out and decoupaged them on. Now hope I can keep digging and come up with 2 more so can paint one pink and light blue for Sleeping Beauty and Cindrella for his sisters. I believe I can come up with some material of them too. Gotta love material stashes!

First Quilting Class Project

We had to make a 12" square with making the 4 3" squares. Mine made it! It was kinda cool to cut the strips and then make the blocks. Not as hard as it looks.

Next week is a 9 patch block. 2 9 patch and 2 solids. I might use this same material those 2.

If you are a Gooseberry Fan

Gooseberry is now on Facebook and they have a blog (see my sidebar). At different times they are giving stuff away or having special 1 day sales so you have to check it. I am usually late so have been trying to check regularly. Getting a free booklet for posting a picture. If over the week-end you posted a video you got the new Farmhouse one free. I just ordered it with the sale. Was to be a picture or video with your favorite GB item or items that you have brought.

Ornaments From a Swap

My friend Jill holds an ornament swap annually, and these are the ones I received from her swap. I do love ornament swaps. I met Jill thru swaps maybe like 6-8 years ago. It has been awhile.

Needing Suggestions---Framing Quilt Pieces

I have a couple of quilts that my grandma had made. When they passed away about 4 years ago I found them in a trunk outside in a shed. They had been folded for years and looked bad so I said I would take them home and wash them and see what happens. Pieces fell off and I hung them out on the line to dry and blow the excess lose pieces off. I have some big pieces in good shape and was going to frame them in 8x10and 12X14 for gifts for Christmas. Can I just use foam board and glass? I thought of stuffed heart ornaments with pieces too.

Any ideals would be appreciated, greatly. I thought if I framed them and used a nice molding and painted it old looking that it would look nice.

Quick & Easy Pumpkin Spread

Haven't tried this yet but sounds very good.

8 ounces cream cheese softened
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup sugar (or splenda)
3/4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix all together with an electric mixer, till smooth. Chill. Store in the fridge.
Great on bagles, raisin bread and other quick breads.

Red and Green

Red is that passionate color in romance and love But beware of fire, danger, and stop signs above. Green, red's best contrast, represen...
