1.35 oz package onion soup mix

Decorating

Don't forget to decorate your mailbox for the holidays.  Alittle greenery with pinecones tied in.

Line a walkway with mason jars filled with rock or Epsom salt and put in a votive candle to light the way.

Don't forget to have an elf of some type out and moved around daily to spy on the kids.

When our kids were little we would decorate the tree and that night we would order pizza and then eat by the lights on the tree and around the cabinets and doors with candlelight.  They always looked forward to that.

Gift Bag

I know this as been around forever, but I do like the ideal of the brown or white craft bags.  Can use stamps or stickers, or if you have the circuit could cut out shapes or words and glue on.  I would also attach a homemade ornament to the peppermint stick.

Decorated Table

If you have a special table for food, desserts or a table that you put gifts on for game prizes run a ribbon the full length and then another one the other way about a fourth of the way on the table and then put a decoration or greenery and bulbs over where they meet.  Could be a tiered plate with either decorations on it or sweets or little sandwiches and put greenery around the bottom outer edge of the plate.

Holly Jolly Kabobs

15 cherry or grape tomatoes
1 to 2 green peppers cut into squares
8 oz pkg mozzarella cheese cubed
Garnish: Italian salad dressing to taste

On each toothpick skewer on tomato, one piece of green pepper and one cheese cube.  Place on a serving plate and drizzle with salad dressing.  (of your choice)

There are the snowmen, Old Time Santa, had decoration and then some cartoons ones.  I get the cans from work.  They hold a lot and I fill with goodies we make.

Clearence Gifts

This is the time of year to pick up gifts for gardeners on your list.  A lot of stores are putting some of the stuff on sale.  the statues for the yards, wind chimes, gloves, hand tools, etc.. Watering cans, outside cushions, plastic tablescloths can be used to make a pillow kneeler if you have somebody that could use that.

Also if you see any cute kitchen towels with BBQ themes or watermelons etc (or any...I have used BBQ theme to wrap items for the grill for people) they put these on sale too they are good to wrap gifts in.  I have used several towels over years to wrap gifts, for birthdays too.

Christmas Pictures

Some years I wrap all the pictures on my wall with paper and then put bows are ribbons on with theme of paper.  Santas, I may put a small (mini) hat over the side at top, etc..  Some years I print out vintage Christmas pictures by searching for them, forest animals in the snow or whatever I want.  Also, as we all know Pinterest has the words for the holidays and I print some of them.  Have one in a Christmas tree shape with a story of Jesus.  I put the items I print out over the top of my pictures and then store it behind picture at the end of the season.

Gift Bag

Draw around the hand of your little ones and then let them decorate it.  Cut it out and place onto a brown or white sack.  Grandparents/parents and others will love it for a keepsake.

BLT Dip

A co-worker made this for work several years ago and was telling us how good it was and man, we couldn't get enough of it.  She was serving it with toast cut up but we couldn't keep enough made up.  I serve it with crackers.

2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups sour cream
4 tomatoes, diced
2 lbs. bacon, crisply cooked and crumbled
Mix together mayonnaise and sour cream.  Add tomatoes and bacon to the mixture.  Refrigerate overnight for the best flavor.  Some people also dice up some green onions and mix into it.

Curry Dip for Shrimp Cocktail

1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons onion grated
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
1 teaspoon curry powder
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon

Combine all ingredients, blend well. Cover and chill before serving.  Makes about 1 cup.
Card Game
The idea is to have 2 decks of cards, pass out one deck of cards to everyone at the party circling around giving everyone one at a time until all the cards are gone. Hopefully everyone will come out with an even number of cards.. Have a bunch of nice little gifts wrapped 5 or 10 depending on the amount of guests.. Put the gifts in the center of the room..

Then with the second Deck of Cards have someone call out each card, the person that has the card that is called gets up and picks a prize, when all the prizes are taken from the table, everyone can steal the gifts from each other, when the whole deck has been called out the people with the prizes on their laps keep them..

This game is fun because everyone likes to pick a certain prize that looks interesting and they try to steal it back and forth and other people try not to let you remember they have a prize, but of course they have to keep them in the open....

I am thinking if the gifts are small or simple enough--let them keep the gift. Bar of soap, tissues, chap stick, travel size items of things.

Could have a deck of kid cards (Old Maid or etc. ) to hand out to them.

We play Dirty Bingo and steal the gifts.

Christmas Spider

I made these ornaments several yrs. back.

The Legend of the Christmas Spider

Author Unknown

A long time ago , a mother prepared for Christmas Eve. She cleaned and scrubbed her home, chasing the spiders from the living room with her broom. The spiders fled to the attic and listened to the excitement below as the Christmas tree was put up and decorated. When all was quiet again, the little spiders crept back downstairs to see the beautiful tree. They were filled with happiness as they crawled along every branch, admiring the glittering beauty of each ornament. But alas, by the time they had finished climbing through the tree, it was completely draped with their dusty, gray cobwebs.
When the Christ child came, He smiled as He looked upon the happy little spiders, however, He knew the mother would be heartbroken when she saw the shrouded tree. So He reached out and touched the webs and, blessing them, turned them into silver and gold. Now the Christmas tree sparkled and shimmered and was even more beautiful than before. Thus the custom to have tinsel of silver and gold and a spider ornament amongst the other decorations on the Christmas tree was born.

It is time for Christmas In July!!!!

For the last several years I have been doing a craft (most of the time) and a recipe daily for Christmas In July, this year I am hoping to do an appetizer and then some other Christmas related ideal.
I thought this was cute and there are so many themed cupcake liners on the market or even solid ones to go with color theme.  Would be cute on end tables and just placed around the room by where people sit,
