Cream Cheese Crescent Bars

2 8-0z. tube crescent rolls, seperated
2 8-oz. pkgs. cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg, seperated

Line the bottom of a greased 13 X 9 baking pan with one package crescent rolls, pinching seams together; set aside. Blend cream cheese, vanilla, sugar and egg yolk together; spread evenly over crust. Gently place remaining crescent roll dough on top, pinching sams together; set aside; Whisk egg white until frothy; brush over the top of the dough. Sprinkle with topping; bake at 350 degrees until golden, about 25 to 30 minutes. Slice into bars to serve. Makes 2 dozen.

I was thinking of trying a roll of sugar cookie dough. Dividing it and rolling it thin for the bottom layer and then roll then for the top layer.

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Gently toss all ingredients together.
